There  is a show of paintings that is worth checking out at The Random Tea Room in Northern Liberties.

Do you spend all you time working the event, pimping your portfolio or hole-ing up in your studio? PositveSpace invites you to participate in Schmooze & Booze, a series of networking nights for the arts. These two-hour social events are a chance for members of local arts organizations, local artists, and arts supporters to meet and exchange information and resources in a fun and relaxed setting.

Philadelphia has a huge art’s population; this will be a chance to mix-it up and put some fresh faces in front of you. PositiveSpace members will be making introductions all night, so there’s no chance for wallflower activity here!

There is no charge for attendance. We will requesting small donation for beverages, in the range of 1 to 3 dollars / drink.

Leave a comment and let us know who you would like to meet in the arts community. We’ll invite them and maybe we’ll all make some helpful connections.

Now accepting submissions!

If you have made a short film or animation, live in Philly…or very close by, and want people to see it, here is your chance.

Rules…

1. Films/animations must be no longer than 10 minutes (give or take).

2. You can submit as many films as you want by sending in a DVD or e-mailing a video or link.
-Selected artists will need to send in a high resolution DVD for the screening.
-Films may have been shown at other screenings.
-Artists retain all rights to their work.

3. Entries must be received by June 1, 2008 !

Prizes will be given for best animation, best short film, and best short-short.

Winners will be picked by the audience at the screening.

The Picture Show will debut

On behalf of all of the members of Positivespace, we want to thank the students and instructors from Conway School of Landscape Design. These generous and extremely talented folks came from Massachusetts to Philadelphia and gave up three days of their time; over a busy holiday weekend, to help PositiveSpace imagine all the possibilities for our little vacant space on Frankford Avenue.
