Positive Space

Friday, August 1 from 5:30-8:30pm: Positive Space will host the Community Art Night project for children and adults. This will take place at the Positive Space Sculpture Garden in Fishtown at 2012-2018 Frankford Avenue, which is between Norris Street and Susquehanna Avenue.
This comes on the heels of our Neighborhood Sign Project during the Trenton Avenue Art Festival.
Fifty-five (55) of these signs are dispalyed on our recently installed gateway of the garden.
Refreshments will be provided by the Fishtown Neighbors Association: http://fishtownlife.com/
Andrea W. Silva and Valeria Kremser have volunteered to run and will work with children and adults to draw a chalk art mural and arts & crafts. Other Positive Space members will be present to assist
Artists are invited to set up a table and sell their wares for an Arts & Oddities Sale. Space is allocated on a first come first serve basis. A donation of five dollars ($5.00) is requested to do so.
A similar event took place on Saturday, June 28, which was heralded as very successful community participation.

PositiveSpace presents a Picture Show
June 6, 2008 about 8:30 (sunset)
at the PositiveSpace Lot
2012-2018 Frankford Ave.
Rain location: the Coral Street Arts House
2446-68 Coral St.
(corner of Coral St. and Hager t St.)

Prizes will be given for best animation, best short film, and best short-short.

Winners will be picked by the audience at the screening. Films by local artist’s including Noah Grant-Levine, Melissa MacCalpin, Mariya Dimov, and more.

This Saturday, April 19 at 10am-1pm, we will be gathering to put a morning of work in on the PositiveSpace Lot. Colleen and her crew will be finishing up the recycled bottles installation. We will also be weeding the planting bed, possibly buiding another planting bed, spreading out dirt to create an amphitheater-like mound for this summer’s short film night and planting grass seed.

Come out if you’d like to join us and get into some dirt! All are welcome to get involved in making this little parcel of Fishtown a community sculpture garden.

Also, we’ll be planting on Sunday, May 12th, 10am-12pm. (Yes we know it’s mother’s day, but we’re doing it early and my mom sleeps in on Sundays!)

Its cold outside, so come on in and join us for a beer at our Winter location this Monday night at 7PM! Positive Space will be meeting at the M-Room 15W-Girard Ave through the rest of the winter so keep us on your calender - second monday of the month all winter long!

Jumping ahead a bit - look for PositiveSpace brings the goods at our annual Standard Craft at The Standard Tap in NOLIBS. On Sunday, December 8th join artists and vendors as they get you all set for the holidays with beautiful crafts and artwork.
